Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service apply to your use of the Duesy website and apps. By creating an account you agree to them.

Duesy is registered in the Netherlands under Chamber of Commerce number 88046443, VAT number NL004531116B90, and can be reached at support@duesy.io.

2. What Duesy does

Duesy helps you keep track of invoices, bills, contracts and subscriptions. Duesy reads the documents you add, recognises dates and amounts, and reminds you before a deadline passes.

Duesy is an assistant, not an administrator, accountant, lawyer or bank. Duesy does not take decisions for you.

3. Minimum age (16+)

You must be at least 16 years old to create a Duesy account with your own login, and you confirm that when you sign up or accept an invitation. Accounts with their own login are not available to children under 16.

You may add household profiles for younger family members, for example to keep track of a passport expiry date. Such a profile is an administrative entry only: it has no login, no notifications and no account of its own. As the adult who added it, you are responsible for the information you enter about that person.

4. Your account

• Provide accurate information and keep your login details secret.
• You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
• One account belongs to at most one household.
• Tell us at support@duesy.io if you suspect someone else has access to your account.

5. Using Duesy together

You can share Duesy with the people you run your administration with. The main user invites people and manages the household.

• You are responsible for the people you invite and for what you make visible to them.
• Shared items are visible to household members according to the visibility you choose and the permissions they have.
• Think before you share sensitive information: once someone can see a shared item, they can read what is in it.
• Removing a member, leaving a household or deleting an account affects access to shared information, and can mean that someone loses access to items they were using.
• The main user can hand the household over to another adult. Data that a member owns themselves stays with that member.

6. Your content

Your documents remain yours. Uploading does not transfer ownership. You give Duesy only the permission needed to store, read and analyse your content in order to deliver the service to you.

You warrant that you are allowed to add the documents you upload, and that you handle information about other people with care.

7. AI and accuracy

Duesy uses AI to read documents. AI is powerful but not infallible: a date, an amount, a supplier or a reference can be recognised incorrectly or missed altogether.

You remain responsible for checking information before you act on it.

8. Payment details and payment plans

Duesy can store, display and have AI read payment details from your documents, such as an IBAN, the name of the payee, a payment reference, amounts and due dates, and can record a payment plan with instalments.

• Duesy is not a bank and is not a payment service provider.
• Duesy never executes a payment, transfer or direct debit on your behalf.
• Duesy does not guarantee that an extracted IBAN, payment reference, amount or due date is correct or complete.
• Marking an instalment as paid inside Duesy is an administrative note; it does not mean a payment has actually been made.
• Always check the details against the original invoice or with the supplier before you pay.

9. Reminders and notifications

Reminders, push notifications, emails and calendar entries are aids. They are not a guarantee that you will be reached, or reached in time.

Delivery can be affected by, among other things, device settings, disabled notifications, battery saving and other operating-system restrictions, no or poor internet connection, spam filters, and outages at external providers.

You remain responsible for your own deadlines, payments and contractual obligations. Duesy is not liable for a missed deadline, late payment fee, interest, collection cost or other loss caused by a reminder that did not arrive, arrived late or was incorrect.

10. Calendar link

The calendar link Duesy generates for you is unique and confidential. Anyone who has the link can see the information in the feed without signing in.

• Treat the link like a password and decide carefully with whom you share it.
• You are responsible for who has your link.
• If you suspect someone else has your link, generate a new one or switch the calendar link off in Settings. The old link then stops working.

11. Outlook mailbox connection

Connecting your Outlook mailbox is an optional feature. You give permission through Microsoft, and Duesy limits the use of that access to new messages in your Inbox from the moment you connect.

• Duesy does not guarantee that every relevant email is recognised or converted into a proposal. Proposals always require your confirmation.
• Duesy does not scan mail from before the connection, and does not use other folders such as Sent, Archive, Calendar or Contacts.
• You can disconnect at any time; that stops future synchronisation but does not by itself delete proposals or items that already exist.

12. Free and Premium

Duesy offers a free plan and a paid Premium plan. Premium applies to one household: the household the subscription was taken out for.

• Payments run through Stripe or through the app store you bought the subscription in.
• A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it.
• You can cancel at any time; the subscription then runs until the end of the paid period.
• Prices and features can change; we will announce changes in advance.
• If you are the paying user and you leave the household or delete your account, you must first cancel the subscription or arrange for someone else to take over billing.

13. Acceptable use

Do not use Duesy for unlawful purposes, do not upload other people's documents without a legitimate reason, do not attempt to break, overload or reverse engineer the service, and do not attempt to access other users' data.

14. Availability

We do our best to keep Duesy available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, updates and outages at external providers can cause temporary unavailability.

15. Liability

Duesy is provided as it is. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for Duesy in the twelve months before the event. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss such as lost income, missed deadlines or fines.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

16. Ending the agreement

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account & data. Your account and the associated account data are then removed from our active systems, subject to the exceptions described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate an account in the event of abuse, unlawful use or non-payment.

17. Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms. The version and date at the top of this page show the current version. For significant changes we will notify you in advance in the app or by email.

18. Governing law

Dutch law applies. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
